FRIDAY-
Today I have guest teacher here for me. Students took a quiz over act 2 at the beginning of class. Then they watched act 3 film version of Taming of the Shrew while watching the movie they completed act 3 study guide- those are due on Monday (be prepared for a quiz).
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY-
Today the class read/ viewed act 2 in Taming of the Shrew while completing the act 2 study guide.
The study guide is due on Friday- act 2 quiz will be on Friday.
TUESDAY-
Today we discussed act one as a class and then they students turned in act one guiding questions.
They took a quiz over act one at the end of the period.
MONDAY-
5th & 7th-
Received the last five words of vocab and then we watched act one as a class. After we answered the act one study guide in partners and then discussed them as a group.
8th-
Completed the same activities but instead of vocab at the beginning they looked over their graded “Lottery” constructed responses.
All classes:
Students received act one study guides on Friday and the study guide is due tomorrow.
FRIDAY-
Today we began reading Taming of the Shrew. All classes listened to the audio version and we made it through the introduction. 5th & 7th Hour received their “Lottery” papers and the rewrites are due next Friday the 8th.
8th hour will receive their papers on Monday. 8th hour also checked out books (5th &7th will only have class sets). 8th hour also received the last 5 vocab words.

PARCC test.

ACT day for juniors- no school for everyone else.

FRIDAY-
All classes- students completed skills challenge #12- Indefinite Pronouns at the beginning of class.
5th & 7th- We discussed the film as a class and continued to anticipate Taming of the Shrew. Students also wrote a reflection over gender roles and gender expectations (5th and 8th completed yesterday).
After, students viewed an introduction power-point to Shakespeare and brief history. Students received the following resources to help them with Taming of the Shrew:
